The mission of the Office of Career Services is to support and empower students and alumni on their career paths by teaching lifelong employability and career management skills, and by providing resources to plan, develop, and manage their careers.
Students and alumni engage in career planning, resume and portfolio development, job search coaching, and mock interviews designed to build confidence and clarity. Wade College's online job board and career resource, College Central Network, connects students and alumni with curated opportunities, events, and resources that support both personal and professional growth. Through workshops, employer events, and engagement with professional organizations, students and alumni develop the skills, self-awareness, and industry relationships needed to thrive in their careers. Core Services
Career Services provides resources and services to support students with their job search and career development:
- One-on-One Career Advising & Coaching - personalized career advising and coaching to support students' growth with clarity, confidence, and purpose. Sessions support academic decisions, personal and professional development, and career readiness.
- Career Planning - exploration of pathways aligned with values, strengths, and long-term aspirations.
- Resume & Cover Letter Reviews - development of authentic, polished application materials.
- Job Search Strategies - confidence-building guidance in networking, outreach, and self-advocacy.
- Mock Interviews - supportive practice to strengthen communication and presence.
- Digital Presence & Personal Branding - build a digital identity that reflects students' personal brand, samples of work, and professional voice.

Field Experience
Field experience allows students to apply their learning in real-world settings while developing confidence, professional habits, and industry connections. Students are encouraged to gain meaningful work experience while pursuing their studies. Whether through academically-eligible field experience or part-time industry work, students can utilize various forms of field experience to build their career paths which may open doors to permanent positions upon graduation.
In partnership with Career Services, baccalaureate-level students may use an internship opportunity for field experience course credits. Students must secure their field experience internship by Week 1 of the school term that this course will occur.
Through Field Experience, students:
- Earn elective course credit for eligible internships.
- Build portfolios that reflect their growth and creativity.
- Strengthen communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Form meaningful relationships with industry professionals.
SUCC 1379 Field Experience I. This three-credit-hour field experience course for associate-level students focuses on an applied-learning experience related to their field of study or career goal. Students will gain hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of their career interests. Prerequisite: A total of 100 hours at the worksite and 15 hours of on-campus instruction is required. Enrollment in this course requires approval from the Office of the Director of Career Services, and participation in a mandatory preparation process prior to the class/work experience. Prerequisites: SUCC 0095 Career and Life Planning and sophomore status in good academic standing and with a minimum GPA of 2.5 (overall).
SUCC 1379 Field Experience II. A three-credit hour field experience course for baccalaureate-level students focusing on an applied-learning experience related to their field of study or career goal. Information Sessions & Recruiting Events
Students have opportunities to connect with employers in supportive, relationship-building environments. These events allow students to learn about job and internship openings, understand company culture and expectations, have their resumes and portfolios reviewed, and participate in interviews. Event announcements are posted on student communication platforms such as the Wade College app and College Central Network.
Workshops
Workshops help students expand their professional and personal skill sets, designed to support confidence, communication, and career readiness. Topics include resume writing, interviewing, networking, and portfolio development.
Professional Portfolio Critiques
Graduating students are provided with the opportunity to create a professional portfolio, the final product showcasing the work they have completed while a student at Wade College. This self-promotion tool allows students to prepare for real-world presentations and employment.

Alumni Association
Wade College's Alumni Association includes thousands of graduates who have taken the necessary steps to complete a degree program at Wade College and move forward into successful careers. All Wade College graduates automatically become members upon graduation. Alumni can receive announcements about on- and off-campus industry events and networking opportunities, participate as guest speakers and on alumni panels, coordinate mixers with fellow alumni, and share their alumni stories. Career Services offers job search resources and support to alumni including continuous access to College Central Network® (CCN).
