The mission of the Office of Career Services is to support and empower students and alumni on their career paths by teaching lifelong employability and career management skills, and by providing resources to plan, develop, and manage their careers.

Wade Career Connection, powered by Symplicity a web-based career management system, includes a job board offered exclusively to Wade College students and alumni. Job posting opportunities including permanent, full-time, part-time, temporary, freelance, volunteer, and internships.

Wade College's proximity to the Dallas World Trade Center provides students with exposure to businesses and activities at one of the world's largest wholesale marketplaces. Many showrooms and vendors offer qualified students and alumni opportunities to work during scheduled tradeshows & markets, and throughout the year. Field Experience

Wade students are encouraged to gain meaningful work experience while pursuing their studies. Whether through academically-eligible field experience or part-time industry work, Wade students utilize various forms of field experience to build their career paths, often opening the doors to permanent positions upon graduation.

In partnership with Career Services, associate's and bachelor's students may use an internship opportunity for field experience course credits. Students must secure their field experience internship by Week 1 of the school term that this course will occur.

SUCC 1379 Field Experience I (3) and SUCC 2379 Field Experience II (3). A three-credit hour internship course for associate-level students focusing on an applied-learning experience related to their field of study or career goal. Students will gain hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of their career interests. Prerequisite: A total of 100 hours at the worksite and 15 hours of on-campus instruction is required. Enrollment in this course requires approval from the Director of Career Services and Dean of Academic and Student Affairs, and participation in a mandatory preparation process prior to the class / work experience. Prerequisite: SUCC 0075 Career and Life Planning, and sophomore or junior in good academic standing and with a minimum GPA of 2.5 (overall).


Micro-Internships are short-term, paid, professional assignments that are similar to those given to new hires or interns. These projects enable *Career Launchers to demonstrate skills, explore career paths, and build their networks as they seek the right full-time role. Unlike traditional internships, Micro-Internships can take place year-round, typically range from 5 to 40 hours of work, and are due between one week and one month after kick-off. Micro-Internships are used by companies ranging from those in the Fortune 100 to emerging start-ups, and go across departments including sales, marketing, technology, HR, and finance. Micro-Internships are facilitated via the Parker Dewey platform, which connects Career Launchers with Companies in need of support. *Career Launchers is Parker Dewey’s network is made up of highly-motivated college students and recent graduates who are seeking to gain professional experience while demonstrating their talent and skills as they launch their careers.

Job Fairs

Each term, Wade students have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with employers at Job Fairs held on-campus, apply for permanent positions and internships, interview on-the-spot, and make new industry connections.

Professional Portfolio Critiques

Graduating students from the associate and bachelor degree programs are provided the opportunity to create a professional portfolio, the final product showcasing the work they have completed while a student at Wade College. This marketing tool allows students to prepare for real-world presentations and employment.

Alumni Relations

Alumni Association

Wade College's Alumni Association includes thousands of graduates who have taken the necessary steps to complete a degree program at Wade College and move forward into successful careers. All Wade College graduates automatically become members upon graduation. Alumni can receive announcements about on- and off-campus industry events and networking opportunities, participate as guest speakers and on alumni panels, coordinate mixers with fellow alumni, and share their alumni stories. Career Services offers job search resources and support to alumni including continuous access to Wade Career Connection our online job board. Alumni can stay connected by joining the Wade College Alumni Association group on LinkedIn.
