Interior design students are taught design fundamentals and curriculum that focus on developing the creative and intellectual capabilities of the student. Learning outcomes stress the importance of an aesthetic and functional approach to interior design with a special emphasis on residential kitchen and bath design. Skills in space planning, architectural and computer-aided drafting, color theory, interior materials, and interpersonal presentation skills are developed. The concentration includes two courses in computer-aided drafting and design using facilities equipped with individual workstations with connectivity to laser printers and scanners and online access to databases and the Internet.
All graduating interior design students will produce a finished professional portfolio and participate in the Wade College Professional Portfolio Critique. Interior Design students are also given the opportunity to share their talent by participating in design competitions and various art shows held throughout the year.
