Elizabeth Johnston

Elizabeth Johnston – Division Director
Teaching Experience:
Professor Johnston has six years of college-level teaching experience, teaching a variety of courses in grammar, composition, rhetoric, literature, critical thinking, and student success, including three years at Wade College.
She has taught Composition I & II, Fundamentals of Composition, Introduction to the Wade College Experience, Introduction to Literature, Creative Writing, Literature & Film, Science Fiction & Fantasy, Ethical & Critical Thinking.

Professional Experience:
Her professional experience includes the development of a math/English tutoring program in Fort Worth, TX. She has also been involved with:
  • Latino Literacy Program – Pine Tree ISD
  • Administered faculty training & development program: Professional Tools for Transformative Teaching
  • Five years of experience in higher education administration in roles such as Lead General Education Faculty, Registrar, Director of Student Services, Director of Academic & Student Affairs

Penelope Bell

Penelope Bell
Teaching Experience:
Professor Bell has one year of college-level teaching experience at Wade College, teaching Art Appreciation I and II, She has two additional years of experience as a graduate assistant at The Ohio State University, teaching Honors Drawing and Introduction to Printmaking and one year of teaching various creative workshops at Paper Source, including bookbinding.

Professional Experience:
Professor Bell has over 10 years of experience in the retail and wholesale industry including:
  • 3 years of store management experience including implementing and running multi-store product knowledge based training program
  • 1 year of operational management experience at a wholesale letterpress studio
  • Participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including: interaction 26, Ladies Point of View, 1:1 OSU/UC, Edition Variable, View 2005, Masters of Fine Arts: Thesis Exhibition

Robert Commer

Robert Commer
Teaching Experience:
Professor Commer has six years of experience teaching Computer Applications courses between Wade College and other institutions. He has an additional one year of teaching experience in Advanced Programming in C++.He has also taught for four years in high school mathematics courses ranging from Algebra1 through IB Calculus.

Professional Experience:
Professor Commer has twelve years experience as a software engineer from design and coding through testing, implementation and support. Worked with numerous operating systems, IDE’s & programming languages, databases, configuration management tools, modeling tools and project management software. Including: Software Engineer – MCI, Contractor - Techniki Informatica and as a Programmer - UT Southwestern.

Deb David

Deb David
Teaching Experience:
Professor David has nine years of college-level teaching experience, teaching a variety of college-level math courses, including three years at Wade College teaching Math for Liberal Arts I and II and Developmental Mathematics.

Professional Experience:
Professor David has more than twenty-five years of experience using mathematical skills in actuarial positions, including as President—Herod Consulting, a Consultant—Pricewaterhouse Coopers (in healthcare profession) and as a Senior Health Care Analyst - Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas.

James Dunning

James Dunning
Teaching Experience:
Professor Dunning has over two years college-level teaching experience, focusing on public speaking, introduction to communication and collegiate preparation courses. His experience spans teaching on ground, online and blended courses.

Professional Experience:
Professor Dunning also has ten years of experience in the newspaper industry as a writer and copy editor including as Reporter/Copy Editor - Brownwood Bulletin, Copy Editor - Lubbock Avalanche-Journal and Copy Editor/Reporter - Yakima Herald-Republic. Additionally, he has ten years of experience in internal communication management for national non-profit and state university including: Communications Coordinator/Web Liaison/E-mail Marketing Coordinator - American Heart Association and as Communications Coordinator - The University of Texas at Arlington.

Jennifer Magee

Jennifer Magee
Teaching Experience:
Professor Magee has three years of combined teaching experience in Portfolio Design & Presentation and Professional Practices at Wade College.

Her professional experience includes:

  • 13 years at a design and fashion college-level institution in the Office of Career Services
  • Roles as a Student Employment Advisor and Career Services Advisor

Jason Reynaga

Jason Reynaga
Teaching Experience:
Professor Reynaga has nine years of college-level teaching experience at Wade College, teaching Art Appreciation, Design I, II, Drawing I, II, and Perspective Drawing. He has an additional year of experience as a graduate assistant at Texas Christian University, teaching Introduction to Drawing and three years of experience teaching museum workshops at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, TX.

Professional Experience:
Professor Reynaga has done professional research and is a practicing/exhibiting professional artist since 2006 (strong Exhibition Record and Gallery affiliations within the DFW Metroplex to include gallery representation) with works in private, university and museum collections throughout Texas.
  • Since 2013: FWEAP (Fort Worth Exhibition Advisory Panel) panel member at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center. Panel members select artists from a pool of regional applicants every year for private and public exhibitions to include Public Arts projects within the Metroplex.
  • Continues to serve as Juror and Curator for numerous professional regional and national art exhibits, at Fort Worth Community Arts Center, and for local university and college art galleries
  • Preparatory and technical assistant—Fort Worth Community Arts Center Gallery
  • Visiting Artist Program: Gallery Assistant—Midwestern State University and University of North Texas Satellite Gallery
  • Teaches private art studio lessons

Tara Valure

Tara Valure
Teaching Experience:
Professor Valure has five years of college-level teaching experience, teaching introductory psychology, abnormal psychology.

Professor Valure has more than fourteen years of experience in psychology-related positions, including: as Program Director—Crawford Center and Program Therapist/ Case Manager - Alternate Family Care CIRTS.
